Globalization and Communication | Entry 2

Globalization is the process where organizations develop international influences through various inspirations; mostly in technological trends. It is dominant how globalization changes each nation nowadays. In the poster slogan attached above, it shows how it affects communication. It makes communication faster and more possible. Moreover with communication, globalization is futile. By technology (phones, satellite, computers etc.) we can easily connect, be influenced and updated with things that are in trend all over the world and this makes us globalized.

Let's take  an example, the Starbucks company. I have read an article that it was just a small coffee business before until it grew and became a trend for serving extra ordinary coffee varieties. Until countries, including Philippines, franchised a branch of the company.

In my own opinion, Starbucks' coffee is not worth my 170 pesos. In fact, 3-in-1 coffees that I buy and make at home is more tasty considering the fact that it is only 15 pesos. However, it is a trend. Celebrities are endorsing it, and a friend of mine from Hawaii told me that it is taste good through a video chat and with that, I wanted to try drinking products from Starbucks. This is a concrete evidence that Iwas influenced through communication through facebook messenger between me and my friend.

There's a good thing on how globalization affects communication, which is the opening of more opportunities that can help people, who are below the poverty line- to progress in life. Communication through technology will be used as a medium in hiring people, creating possibilities and reaching millions of people.  However, not everyone can afford the technology that enables globalization especially in our country due to the present economic situation.

In conclusion, globalization affects communication more on a good way but is limited due to factors that people are into. Moreover, globalization makes communication faster, easier and more possible to connect with the world but with high hopes, I wish that all people can feel the globalization in the coming years of technological adavancement in the present era.
